Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta and a focal area for visiting Northern Botswana. You will enjoy the light aircraft flights over the Delta with a bird’s eyeview perspective of this spectacular region. The Okavango Delta is known as the Jewel of the Kalahari, a treasure trove of spectacular landscapes where an abundance of wildlife can be seen. Pom Pom Camp offers land and water based activities including day and night game drives, bush walks, mokoro excursions along the gently flowing channels and boat cruises.
The Chobe River attracts an abundance of wildlife coming to slake their thirst and the diverse birdlife will entertain you too. Chobe Safari Lodge is beautifully located on the Chobe River. Enjoy thrilling game drives and the highly popular Chobe River Sunset Cruise that take you into Chobe National Park.
Victoria Falls is a magnificent natural phenomenon where you will enjoy a guided trip of Victoria Falls and a Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River. There are also a great variety of other exciting activities here.

Itinerary
DAY 1
THAMALAKANE RIVER LODGE, MAUN, BOTSWANA
Babbler Chalet – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met and transferred to Thamalakane River Lodge, beautifully located on the Thamalakane River that flows out of the Okavango Delta and through Maun. You are booked into an Ensuite Chalet with Dinner and Breakfast included. Here you are just beyond the buzz of Maun and will find a tranquil atmosphere that is unique to Northern Botswana.
Chalets, public areas and the swimming pool share a 180 degree view of the riverbanks lined with fluttering reeds visited by an ever changing array of water fowl and birds. The restaurant serves a la carte and buffet meals from an ever changing menu. Dusk is spectacular, with the sun setting the river ablaze as it slowly dips behind the trees. Get your first taste of Botswana on a sunset cruise along the Thamalakane River.

DAYS 2, 3 & 4
POM POM CAMP, OKAVANGO DELTA
Luxury Meru Tent – Full Board
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Maun Airport for your light aircraft flight to Pom Pom Camp in the Okavango Delta.
Pom Pom Camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the headwaters of the Xudum river system. The area lies on the western boundary of Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience.
The Okavango Delta is one of the last remaining unspoiled wilderness areas of Africa. The water from the Okavango River fans out into the Okavango Delta forming a wetland system of beautiful palm-fringed channels, lagoons and islands that support a wealth of fauna and flora alike.
The Luxury Safari Tents overlook a scenic lagoon and are quietly nestled under a grove of shady trees. Sit around the camp fire each night as bushlore anecdotes are recounted, whilst a gracious meal is prepared and elegant wines uncorked. In the main thatched building you will find a cozy bar, lounge and table settings for imaginative meals prepared by safari chefs. Pom Pom Camp is known as much for its “soul” as for the game and wildlife in the area.

DAYS 5 & 6
CHOBE SAFARI LODGE, CHOBE RIVER, KASANE
Luxury Room – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
After breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft to Kasane where you will be met and transferred by road to Chobe Safari Lodge, beautifully located on the banks of the Chobe River and sharing a border with Chobe National Park. Right on it’s doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia, making it the perfect gateway to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi.
Safari rooms afford you the luxury of air-conditioning, luxurious en-suite bath and shower facilities, as well as satellite TV and telephone. The Safari rooms enjoy expansive lawns which form the banks of the Chobe River. Each room has its own patio that gives one the privacy of enjoying views of the river from the comfort of your own room. The rooms are also in close proximity to the main complex.
Along with many species of big game, Chobe National Park boasts the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. Game drives and boat cruises offer you the opportunity to witness this amazing spectacle.

DAYS 7 & 8
ILALA LODGE, VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE
Standard Room – Bed & Breakfast
After breakfast you will be transferred by road to Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Ilala Lodge is well located in the small town of Victoria Falls, the closest hotel to the The Falls, a mere 8 minute walk, and close to all amenities, restaurants and markets. Animals such as warthog and impala often graze on the hotel lawns and entertain guests during mealtimes.
Your accommodation is in a Standard Room with facilities that include ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, overhead fan, television, tea/coffee station, room fridge, safe, free wifi and a sliding door opening onto a lush garden.
Hotel facilities include The Palm Restaurant and a swimming pool.

DAY 7 – ACTIVITY
ZAMBEZI ROYAL SUNSET CRUISE
This afternoon you will be collected at 15:50 by Wild Horizons for your Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi Royal.
The luxurious Zambezi Royal is a single level cruise boat and offers a unique and intimate way to view the Zambezi River. During the premium two hour guided Sunset cruise, departing daily from the Wild Horizons Jetty Site, you will enjoy 5-star service on board, consisting of imported wines and spirits, gourmet hot & cold canapés. A variety of game is consistently spotted, such as elephant, hippo, crocodiles, as well as a vast plethora of bird species. The Zambezi Royal is the optimum way to view the beautiful stunning scenery and surrounds of the upper Zambezi River.

DAY 8 – ACTIVITY
MORNING – GUIDED TOUR OF THE VICTORIA FALLS
Today you will be collected by Wild Horizons at 08:10 for your Guided Tour of the Falls. En route you may be taken past the ‘Big Tree’ where you can stop and take photos. Then on to the magnificent Victoria Falls where you will be accompanied through the Rainforest on a 2 hour tour by a qualified guide who will give a brief history of the Falls as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest. Guides are also happy to assist clients with photographs whilst visiting this most spectacular of waterfalls. Raincoats are provided when needed.
At about 10:45 you will be transferred across the bridge to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls where you can explore the diverse and very different parts of the Falls.

DAY 8 – ACTIVITY
AFTERNOON – ELEPHANT ENCOUNTER
This afternoon you will be collected at 15:25 by Wild Horizons for your Elephant Encounter activity. You will have the opportunity to unobtrusively interact with some of the biggest personalities in Africa in a pristine wilderness environment overflowing with raw natural beauty. You can spend time and connect with elephants in the most positive and natural way possible.
An open-design thatch Boma gives you an uninterrupted view of the beautiful Masuwe River and against this breathtaking back drop, you will be given an insightful and educational presentation on the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage. The sanctuary was founded on the principle of conservation, and one of the most effective ways to evoke a sense of environmental responsibility is to show what stands to be lost.
You will have an opportunity to talk to guides that have journeyed, physically and metaphorically, incredible distances with these elephants and learn more about the complexities of the individuals and the herd structures. You will learn about the elephant as well as their history and the threats facing elephant populations today, in an interesting and informative talk.
You will venture out into the bush to spend time with the elephant and the sight of the gentle grey mammals up close and personal will be imprinted on your mind long after you have returned home. Witness the special relationship the elephant keepers share with the animals and become a part of it. You will have the opportunity to take photographs with the elephants, marvel at their size and watch them behaving normally; browsing and interacting with one another.
After the encounter with these amazing creatures you will be offered a selection of refreshments in the cool of the Wild Horizons Elephant Wallow. A transfer back to your lodge concludes the experience.

END OF SAFARI
Today you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport in time to check in for your outbound flight.
