The Kruger National Park covers an area of 20,000 sq.kms, stretching 350 kms from north to south and 60 to 90 kms from east to west. Despite the abundance of big game species that excite visitors, the Kruger Park is wonderfully diverse in its geology, vegetation, fauna and flora. There are 147 mammal species, over 500 bird species, many different species of reptiles and amphibians and over 300 different tree species.
At Rhino Post Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park you will indulge in thrilling wildlife activities. Vilanculos Beach Lodge is located further north in Mozambique in the small coastal town of Vilankulo with friendly people and a lively atmosphere, offering the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque Bazaruto Archipelago and the Bazaruto National Park. The marine reserve includes five islands and offers some of the worlds best snorkelling and diving. The islands are pristine in their natural beauty and diverse ecologies. The coral reefs are profuse with a diversity of tropical fish and turtles and are amongst the most pristine in the Western Indian Ocean.

Itinerary
DAYS 1 – 4
RHINO POST SAFARI LODGE, KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Bush Suite – Full Board
On arrival at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, clear customs and take a flight to Skukuza Airport inside the Kruger National Park. Here you will be met by a driver from Gap Tours who will display a Welcome Board with your names on it. You will then be transferred to Rhino Post Safari Lodge inside the Kruger National Park.
You will enjoy the huge diversity of game, plant and birdlife from a safari vehicle and even around the lodge. Enjoy an unforgettable wildlife experience in a magical environment. Thrilling game activities include early morning and late afternoon into evening game drives.
Your accommodation is in a Bush Suite with ensuite bathroom, overhead fan, mosquito nets, tea & coffee facilities and a private deck overlooking the dry Mutlumuvi Riverbed.
The lodge has a swimming pool area which overlooks a waterhole and offers an opportunity for a refreshing break. There is an open plan lounge and deck with a recessed fire pit which also overlooks the active waterhole.
Activities include morning and evening game drives, tailormade birding safaris, a sleepout under the stars on a raised platform, in-room massages, stargazing and golf at Skukuza.
At Rhino Post Safari Lodge you will indulge in a most thrilling wildlife safari. Your ranger will follow the signs of the wild in an open safari vehicle. DAYS 4 – 8
VILANCULOS BEACH LODGE, VILANKULO
Luxury Bungalow – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
Say goodbye to the awesome Kruger National Park today as you are transferred to Nelspruit Airport for your flight to Vilankulo, further north along the Mozambique coast.
On arrival at Vilankulo Airport you will be met by a driver from Vilanculos Beach Lodge and transferred to the lodge.
Vilanculos Beach Lodge is located in the small town of Vilankulo and is about 100 m from the beach with an elevation that provides a wonderful view over the beautiful expanse of ocean.
Accommodation is in a Luxury Bungalow with Dinner and Breakfast included. Room facilities include ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, mosquito nets, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, safe and a private balcony.
Lodge facilities include a restaurant, bar and infinity pool with spectacular views.
Activities include scuba diving, snorkelling on the amazing mile reef, traditional dhow and boat trips to the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago, kayaking, paddle skiing, kite surfing, horse riding and cultural village tours.
The Bazaruto Archipelago offers some of the worlds best snorkelling and diving. The islands are pristine in their natural beauty and diverse ecologies. The coral reefs are profuse with a diversity of tropical fish and turtles, and are amongst the most pristine in the Western Indian Ocean.
Dolphins are seen year round and whales are seasonal visitors to the Archipelago. The park is also home to the last viable population of Dugong on the East African coast. There is an abundance of bird species, including the crab plover and olive bee-eater that tunnels its nest into the sand dunes. Large flocks of migrant waders visit the fertile mud flats from September to April and the nomadic Greater Flamingo arrive around mid-October.

DAY 8
POLANA SERENA HOTEL, MAPUTO

Today you will be transferred to Vilankulo Airport for your flight to Maputo.
On arrival at Maputo Airport you will be met by a driver from Dana Tours who will transfer you to the Polana Serena Hotel situated in the heart of the city with spectacular sea views.
Perched along Maputo’s Indian Ocean coast, Polana Serena Hotel is a landmark of heritage and quiet elegance. Built in 1922 in the grand palace style, the hotel has long welcomed dignitaries, diplomats, and travellers drawn by its calm grandeur and attentive service.
Accommodation is in a Standard Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis with facilities that include ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, satellite TV, wifi and private safe.
The hotel has two restaurants, a heated swimming pool, an art gallery, two bars and a resident’s lounge.

DAYS 9 – 12
MACHANGULO BEACH LODGE
Ocean View Room – Full Board
This morning the hotel shuttle will transfer you to the Maputo Marina.
From here you will be transferred by private boat to Machangulo Beach Lodge, situated south of Maputo in a truly unique location and surrounded by 5 marine and nature reserves.
Set on a secluded peninsula just across the bay from Maputo, Machangulo Beach Lodge is perfectly positioned for travellers seeking both adventure and escape. Here, luxury is found not in extravagance but in the rhythm of the tides, the rustle of palm leaves in the breeze and the unspoiled landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Accommodation is in an Ocean View Room on a Full Board basis. The rooms have spectacular views with facilities that include ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, mosquito nets, private deck, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, ceiling fan and safe.
Lodge facilities include a bar, lounge and dining area with incredible views.

DAY 12
END OF SAFARI
This morning you will be transferred by boat to Maputo Marina. Here you will be collected by Dana Tours and transferred to Maputo Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and onward travel.
