Overview

The water, wildlife and wilderness experiences of the Okavango Delta, Moremi, Khwai, Savute and the Chobe River make this safari very special.

Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta and a focal area for visiting Northern Botswana. You will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at Audi Camp located on the Thamalakane River which flows out of the Okavango Delta.

The Okavango Delta, known as the Jewel of the Kalahari, is a treasure trove of spectacular landscapes, a mosaic of aquatic and dry land habitats where an abundance of wildlife can be seen. It is the largest inland delta in the world with permanent swamps in the north and floodplains in the south that start filling up from the end of July.

Moremi Game Reserve is one of the richest wildlife areas in Africa including abundant birdlife and a diversity of trees and plants. Located 2 hours north of Maun, it covers an area of nearly 5,000 sq. kms and forms the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta, combining diverse aquatic and savanna habitats and offering the visitor a truly magnificent wildlife experience. These habitats include river channels, swamps, seasonal floodplains, islands, lagoons, aquatic vegetation, beautiful tall riparian woodlands, grassland, savanna woodlands and sandveld.

Savute lies in the western part of Chobe National Park and covers 870 sq. kms. It is a very popular wildlife destination renowned for excellent predator sightings and due to its remote location, it is more specialised for true safari experiences. The area comprises extensive open savannas and rolling grasslands, pans, rocky outcrops, the erraticly ephemeral Savute Channel and marshlands that attract abundant plains game in summer.

The Chobe Riverfront is a very popular area in the extreme northeast part of Chobe National Park where the floodplains, riverine forest and permanent water sustain the needs of a diversity of wildlife and birds throughout the year, but especially during the dry season from June to October when very large herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen. Enjoy thrilling game drives and the highly popular Chobe River Sunset Cruise that takes you into Chobe National Park.

Bordering Chobe National Park and located on the Chobe River is the small town of Kasane where numerous lodges offer affordable safari experiences. Being close to Victoria Falls, Kasane is also a key area for Northern Botswana safaris and the magnificent Falls.

Your Mobile Safari with Audi Safaris will take you on the classic safari route between Maun and Kasane to experience the wildlife and magical habitats of Moremi, Khwai, Savute and the Chobe Riverfront. This guided and fully catered safari offers some of the best gameviewing in Africa in a truly wild and remote wilderness region.
