The HATAB campsites used by Audi Safaris have no facilities but they supply a toilet tent, bucket shower and a water supply. Your camp is set up and by camp assistants and when you depart to your next destination, the camp is completely dismantled and nothing left behind.
Audi Safaris are led by experienced Botswana registered guides. All safaris are catered and delicious meals are provided by the guide and camp assistants. They also provide tea, coffee and water. You will need to provide your own soft and alcoholic drinks. Audi Safaris use safari dome tents which are easy to put up and down. Camping stretchers, mattresses, bedding and towels are provided.
Pack lightly in a soft bag (one per person). You won’t need much clothing – T-shirts, shorts and a sweatshirt for summer months (neutral shades are good), T-shirt, jacket and long trousers for winter months. Daypacks are useful for taking on game drives. Other useful items are a torch, binoculars, and sun cream and mosquito repellent.
A normal day consists of morning and afternoon/ evening drives or full day game drives depending on sightings, weather conditions, etc. Please note that it is advisable to take a pullover/rain jacket with you in case the weather turns cold or rainy.
Wildlife sightings may include larger mammals such as impala, kudu, waterbuck, bushbuck, giraffe, zebra, elephant, hippo, crocodile, baboon, vervet monkey, warthog, hyena, jackal, wild dog, lion, leopard and cheetah. There are also many smaller mammals, birds and reptiles that make up the wildife complement of this unique region. This area generally provides good game sightings all year round despite the fact that animals disperse during the rainy season to take advantage of grazing in areas that are normally too far from water in the dry season.
Sitting around the campfire at night is really exciting as you may hear lions roaring, or jackals and hyenas. You may see animals at night too. Your guide and camp assistant will see to all your needs.
