The Lower Zambezi National Park covers 4,093 sq. kms and is located in southern Zambia directly opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park on the Zambezi River.
The park slopes down from the Zambezi Escarpment and the Zambezi Valley hosts an abundance of game during the dry season that rely on the lush riverine vegetation, grasslands and Zambezi waters for sustenance. The birdlife here is prolific too.
Several Camps and Lodges are found along the Zambezi River, both inside and just outside the Park, though the wet season can deny access to these areas from January to March. Activities include thrilling game drives, bush walks, canoe trips on the Zambezi River and boat cruises.
