The West Coast National Park is 300 sq. km in size and is located on the Atlantic Ocean, about an hour’s drive north of Cape Town. The West Coast National Park conserves important aquatic and terrestrial habitats for breeding populations of birds, many of which are migratory. These habitats include the Langebaan Lagoon and its salt marshes and wetlands, the granitic islands of Saldanha Bay with its large breeding populations of seabirds, the varied rocky and sandy shores of the coastal strip, the parabolic coastal dune fields and the fynbos communities.
Wildlife includes a variety of antelope, caracal, rock hyrax, whales and dolphins.
A variety of exciting activities can be included in your visit such as mountain bike, cycling and hiking trails, kite boarding, kayaking and other water sports, bird watching and whale watching.
