The Khwai Concession lies between Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, covering an area of over 1,800 sq kms and has a wide range of habitats including riparian and dry forests, permanent water, seasonal floodplains and open grasslands.
The Khwai River forms the border between Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession and is the main life source of the region, attracting a diversity and abundance of wildlife and birds. The Khwai Concession has become legendary for its prolific predator activity due to the abundance of plains game depending on the Khwai River and providing frequent predator-prey interactions.
As this is a private concession, lodges offers the options of walking safaris and night drives which are not permitted in the National Parks and Game Reserves.
There are a few Luxury Lodges along the Khwai River as well as private campsites for Mobile Tented Safaris.
