Kasane is a small town located in the north-eastern corner of Botswana on the Chobe River bordering Chobe National Park and less than 100 kms from Victoria Falls. Kasane is the gateway to Chobe National Park and the wildlife areas of Northern Botswana and has an airport that services the local safari industry and a wide range of accommodation with lodges and guest houses on prime river frontage.

Most Lodges in Kasane offer Sunset Cruises on the Chobe River which take you into Chobe National Park on a 3 hour excursion, allowing you excellent views of hippos and crocs and any other game that comes to the river to drink and cool off in the summer heat. Most often one is able to get good sightings of elephant breeding herds, large herds of buffalo feeding on the floodplains, a variety of antelope and a diversity of beautiful waterbirds.

Kasane Lodges also offer game drives inside Chobe National Park and day trips and transfers to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Zambia.

Many Tour Operators run safaris in Northern Botswana from Kasane that end in Maun or Lodges in the Okavango Delta.

Kasane is thus a crucial tourist area for visitors wishing to experience wildlife safaris in Chobe National Park and visits to Victoria Falls.
