The Bazaruto Archipelago comprises four main islands, Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque and Santa Carolina which lie about 35 kms off the mainland and are accessible by boat or light aircraft from the small town of Vilanculos.
This is Mozambique’s prime tourist destination and understandably so as it is truly a tropical paradise with all year round warm climate for beach and marine activities which include snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, water skiing and dhow or yacht sailing.
The archipelago offers some of the best diving in the world due to the good visibililty in the crystal waters and the diversity of fish and marine animals.
There is also an abundance and diversity of bird species for birdwatchers.
The islands provide exclusive accommodation and the beaches are pristine and unspoilt.
